Maria Erkelentz
trumpet

When I was 6 I had a wonderful teacher to teach the recorder. My teacher taught me a great deal, because she took me seriously and expected me to bring life to each and every note.

After my study of the Jazz-trumpet at the Hanns-Eisler-University I founded my own band. I also composed and played Free Music.

I love improvisation - free improvisation too - and I love the music because it appeals to your emotions directly. In this way I can create atmospheres, especially by the members of the band and the audience …but only for this brief moment, but therefore a lot more intense.
